Bone cells, cementoblasts, and odontoblast cells are very sensitive to LIPUS exposure. The study used HGF cells cultured in 48-well plates at 2.5×10<sup>3</sup> cells/well and analyzed different cell activities. The study used MTT (4,5-dimethyl thiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide) assays to measure the cell viability. The study observed an increase in total DNA content and LIPUS treatment can regulate OPN gene expression. The study also found that the LIPUS stimulation can enhance the differentiation of HGF by increasing ALP activity and OPN expression. The LIPUS stimulation can be used for therapeutic treatment of odotoblast cells.}, number={3}, journal={Canadian Acoustics}, author={Mostafa, Nesrine and Scott, Paul and Dederich, Douglas N. and Doschak, Michael and El-Bialy, Tarek}, year={2008}, month={Sep.}, pages={34–35} }
