Abstract

The key aspects in controlling noise, including analysis, design and implementations of certain features, are presented. Dust collector fans with centrifugal design, are seen in industries that emit particulate matter in the atmosphere. These fans produce strong noise of blade passing tone, thereby disturbing the residents in that area. To control the noise, a short lined passive silencer was installed. The noise control objective was to reduce fan blade passage tone. Another possible solution to control the noise is to install active noise control.
