Various aspect of the Noise Exposure Forecast (NEF) system are discussed. NEF is basically a tool (information package), which when interpreted using social response information, predict public reaction to aircraft noise. It is expected that the implementation of the system would provide a platform to both the government officials and noise management professionals to discuss and understand all aspects of the noise problem. It is observed that the system is being implemented in international airports of North America and Europe.Published
