Abstract

Alberta is in the middle of building or modernizing 230 schools. Alberta Infrastructure has developed standards and studies of schools over the last 15 years. This large scale project seeks to implement these improvements. This overview will review the standards andour studies of sound field systems and measuring reverberation in gymnasia(1). It will also look at the trends we are seeing in these new projects and identify the challenges faced in implementing better acoustics in schools.
