The Acoustics Section; A Profile of the Laboratory
AbstractWhen Editor Deirdre Benwell invited me to open this series, my first inclination was to offer a simple account of our tasks and responsibilities. On reflection, however, it became apparent that a narrative which failed to bring out the philosophy and style of a scientific institution would miss the mark. That is why I have gone back to our roots and provided some context to frame the diverse activities in which we have engaged over the years.
