Abstract

A study on the current efforts to develop a test method for rating floor toppings on joist floors is carried out. An essential component of a new test procedure is a new rating that deals with low-frequency noise transmission. The results suggest that any improvement spectrum from a test method will not be applicable to all kinds of joist floors.
