Modeling ahicraft cabin noise with statistical energy analysis (SEA)

Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) methodology have been developed for the Transmission Loss (TA) modeling of aircraft cabin noise in flight cruise conditions. The transfer loss of the fuselage cross-section has been modeled and validated with Transmission Loss measurements conducted at the University of Sherbrooke. TL model combines SEA, and independently, a transfer matrix approach to determine the insertion loss and absorption of the insulation blankets. SEA models of a green and completed aircraft were developed to predict the cabin average Sound-Pressure level (SPL). These models consists of subsystems for the green aircraft structure, interior components, and acoustic cavities such as cabin and below floor. The models were modified to predict the in-flight cabin average SPL at standard cruise conditions after the successful validation of the aircraft cabin model from ground test. There was a good agreement between SEA predictions and measurement for TL and cabin average SPL.Additional Files
