Abstract

This study compares the accuracy of SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation, ANSYS Fluent, and PowerFLOW in simulating the acoustics of a woodwind instrument. The results demonstrated that PowerFLOW, using the Lattice Boltzmann Method (LBM), provided superior performance with less discrepancy between the experimental and numerical results. Furthermore, it was able to replicate the recorder's note more accurately than the other two software. The findings highlight the potential of PowerFLOW and the LBM in computational acoustics, advocating for its use in further experimental studies.
