Résumé

The use of sediment porosity as an effective geoacoustic parameter for sonar performance prediction was presented. A systematic increase in bulk resistivity were observed as the test locations progressed from high to low porosity sediments. It was shown that the in situ measurements of porosity serve as an effective single parameter for characterizing seabed properties for both transmission loss and reverberation in sonar performance prediction.
