Résumé

The utilization of species specific vocalizations to improve productivity and welfare of food producing animals was discussed. The species of poultry, turkeys and swine were used to evaluate the effectiveness of using maternal, progeny or a combination of vocalizations. Results showed that several species could be manipulated to enhance productivity via auditory signals.
