Résumé

The role of acoustical feedback howl in hearing aids is discussed. The Nyquist criterion asserted that the onset of feedback howl occurs when the overall feedback gain is unity. It is observed that the size of the feedback signal depends on the amplification settings of the hearing aid. It is stated that upon meeting the conditions for feedback howl, the howl will be evident at the ear canal microphone.
