Résumé

The difference between Type 1 and Type 2 sound level measuring meters based on the ANSI and IEC standards was discussed. The output was observed to be dependent upon the spectrum and frequency response of these meters. It was analyzed that the meter and the microphone together must meet specs while discussing tolerances. The weighted value used was the energy modified by the A-weighted curve. The results of a theoritical study based on numbers alone and of a simple measurement test were presented.
