Abstract

High pressure fans offer very interesting aerodynamic specifications for several domestic applications. However, these fans generate a great pure tone caused by the rotation of the blades. Active noise control, a noise reduction alternative when the pressure drops are an important factor in the conception, was considered but found to be rather expensive. In this context, a compact and less expensive active noise control system for high pressure fans for domestic use was developed. The description of the fan along with the control system is presented.
