Abstract

The sound from facilities that change tires on cars and trucks are a source of impulsive sound.  Jurisdictions like Ontario, Canada use some of the impulse characteristics in evaluating the sound.  This paper considers the value and applicability of the ISO 1996-3 standard in a context where the evaluation method does not completely align with the standard.  The SIO 1996-3 method of identifying impulses is shown to be valuable.
