Discussion on Noise And Its Impact on Birds

Abstract

Environment and Climate Change Canada has adopted a 50 dB criteria for noise impacts related to nesting birds.  This paper reviews the supporting literature for this criteria and discusses the practical implementation of its assessment.

A Senior Associate Engineer with Amec Foster Wheeler, Mr. Babic has 20 years of experience in acoustics, noise and vibration.  Mr. Babic heads the Acoustic Practice for Amec Foster Wheeler and his expertise includes environmental noise, transportation noise, building acoustics and vibration.
