Résumé

The effect of the position of the microphone on the quality of the voice are discussed. The common problems in the recording and live amplification situations are popping from plosive consonants, exaggerated sibilance and biased timbral coloration. Popping results from a brief turbulence of air exhaled from the mouth when pronouncing plosive consonants.
