The accuracy of sensor-localization in terms of an analytic result for the posterior uncertainties of a Bayesian formulation of AEL inversion is estimated. This is expected to provide a general measure of the accuracy that can be achieved in AEL applications without resorting to computationally intensive Monte Carlo simulations. General formulation of AEL inversion includes the positions of the sensors to be localized, along with source locations and water column parameters to properly account for the effect of uncertainties in the quantities. Sensor depth is improved by including reflected arrivals, but the benefits of bottom-reflected paths diminish with increasing water-depth uncertainty.
