Abstract

The current status of international standards for sound level meters was presented. The specifications for response to transient signals were made more strignent with the introduction of specified response to tone-bursts of 0.25 ms with respect to the minimum duration of 5 ms of previous sound level meter specifications. The minimum level range for meters with digital displays were increased from 15 dB to 60 dB.
