Enseignement en ligne de l'acoustique aux candidats à l'admission en audiologie et orthophonie à l'université d'Ottawa

Cet article vise à partager l’expérience tirée d’un projet de médiatisation d’un cours préparatoire en acoustique pour les candidats à l’admission à la maîtrise en audiologie ou orthophonie à l’Université d’Ottawa. Le cours est offert à l’été à ceux et celles qui n’ont pas reçu de formation préalable en acoustique physique, phonétique acoustique ou linguistique instrumentale. Une bonne connaissance des bases de l’acoustique, de l’analyse des signaux et des systèmes électroacoustiques est nécessaire à l’acquisition de plusieurs compétences cliniques, tant chez les audiologistes que chez les orthophonistes. La médiatisation du cours a été rendue nécessaire pour permettre à un plus grand nombre d’étudiants de combler le préalable d’admission en acoustique en raison de l’étalement pancanadien des nouveaux étudiants en audiologie et orthophonie. Depuis 2009, le cours est offert entièrement en ligne à l’aide d’outils d’enseignement à distance (p. ex. Blackboard™) et la conception de matériel pédagogique en français sur l’acoustique utilisée en audiologie et en orthophonie. Bien que des efforts appréciables aient été nécessaires pour mettre en œuvre le cours en ligne sur une période de 5 ans, le projet de médiatisation s’est avéré un vif succès.
